Rog Patterson – Flightless now available for preorder

Preorder this album now!

Bad Elephant Music is proud to announce that the reissue of Flightless, the solo album by Twice Bitten’s Rog Patterson, is now available to preorder!

Originally released on vinyl in 1989, Flightless received glowing reviews in progressive fanzines around Europe in the days before Prog Magazine or The Classic Rock Society. Despite extensive touring of the album, the tiresome requirement to earn a living saw Rog lurch further towards sound engineering, tour and production management; thus, writing, recording and performing took a back seat.

To quote Rog himself: “In a last-ditch attempt to avoid recording my ‘new’ solo album, I have somehow persuaded those fine but rather silly folk at Bad Elephant Music to release the old one again, including demo versions of thre...

Paradigm Shift sign to BEM; announce album

ps

Bad Elephant Music is proud to announce the signing of their latest band: London-based progressive quartet Paradigm Shift!

Originating as a two-person project in 2007 and soon growing into a fully-fledged band, Paradigm Shift combines a diverse range of influences, from metal to electronica, to create a distinctive and wholly British sound: heavy yet precise, with a strong political edge that comes through especially powerfully on their upcoming first album, Becoming Aware, mixed by Rob Aubrey, who has worked with Spock’s Beard, IQ, Big Big Train and many others, and mastered by TesseracT’s Acle Kahney.

Singer and keyboardist Ben Revens says: “BEM seem like one of the rare few labels who really are ‘for the artist’, and we can’t think of a better platform from which to release our...

BEM signs N.y.X

Bad Elephant Music is excited to announce the addition of Italian art-rock/progressive outfit N.y.X to its thriving roster of diverse acts.

The multi-instrumental trio is joined by a number of impressive guest artists to build on the signature sound of a power trio enhanced by electronic percussions, synthesizers and effects. The News, the band’s second full-length album, is a concept piece that focuses on electronica while maintaining a singular iconoclastic and progressive approach.

From the Court of the Crimson King, Adrian Belew and Trey Gunn add their matchless genius to the tracks A Sarcastic Portrait and The Daily Dark Delirium respectively, and enhance this conceptual tale, one that is inspired by reality and a sort of caustic detachment, a protagonist in a psychological crisis ...

Trojan Horse to sign with BEM

thlogo

BEM is delighted to announce that Manchester progressive rock band  Trojan Horse will be releasing their second album through us in Autumn 2014.

Nicholas Duke, the band’s guitarist and lead vocalist, said – “Trojan Horse are incredibly happy to be working with Bad Elephant Music on our forthcoming album ‘World Turned Upside Down’. BEM is a label we’ve heard many great things about, and have seen them grow from strength to strength with each new release. It’s been a pleasure to watch as our friends The Fierce & The Dead have benefited from partnering with a label that values a positive, open minded approach to music that sits outside the boundaries of genre labels, and this is something that is severely lacking in today’s musical climate...
