We’re delighted to announce the release today of The Wild Places, the superb new album from Midlands-based five-piece rock band Under A Banner.

Incorporating a heady blend of influences from across the musical spectrum, Under A Banner combine intelligent composition with Adam Broadhurst‘s coruscating lyrics, producing a hard, uncompromising sound with powerful injections of raw emotion. The Wild Places raises the bar even higher, with a much bigger sound stage, produced by Alistair Jamieson at Park Studios in Birmingham, and mastered by Jon Astley, who has worked with The Who, Peter Gabriel, The Rolling Stones and many others.

Some snippets from initial reviews:

“If you have a desire to hear music written and performed with passion, soul and sincerity, as well as a willingness to open beyond limits, then this is definitely the one for you.”

— Emma Roebuck, Progradar

“Each time I listen reveals new and intricate sounds…as new folk rock crusaders go, these guys are one of the best of the bunch…I cannot recommend this release enough, buy it, put it in your ears and let it live!”

— James Turner, Progarchy: Pointing Toward Proghalla

The Wild Places is available from the BEM store, both as a Digipak CD with gorgeous artwork by Susan Omand and John Williamson, and as a high-quality download.
